Empowering Girls Through Basketball: The Divas Story

Divas Basketball is an organization dedicated to helping young women in the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth area achieve their goals in higher education and in the sport of basketball.

The primary focus is around individual development, team work, and leadership skills. This is achieved through physical conditioning, active mental preparation, and exposure to difficult situations to increase critical thinking.

Although most teams measure success through wins and trophies, we measure success through smiles, success in the classroom, and interpersonal relationships.

COACHES

John Woods

Head Coach of  High School

John Woods is the true definition of an "old school" coach, focusing on the small details that make a player go from good to great. Having successfully navigated his own basketball career including graduating from the University of Missouri in 1999, to playing professionally, Coach Woods brings his own knowledge, work ethic, and determination to every practice. It shows in the teams he coaches as their Basketball IQ is typically the best around.

Mark Carroll

Founder of  Program

Mark Carroll founded the AAU Competitive Group known as the Divas in 2017 after competing in Allen Recreational Leagues prior. Starting out from a small group of 8 girls to the largest number reaching 80 last summer, Mark and team are dedicated to development from 1st grade to High School graduation. Mark holds a Bachelors Degree in Business from Baylor University.
